Healthy Cooking Shows
I don’t know about you, but I did not grow up learning how to make healthy recipes. In fact, I didn’t even really know how to boil water until I was about 30 years old.
I ate a lot of processed foods and restaurant meals until I ended up with a bunch of health problems (learn more about my clean eating before and after journey). Once I started studying nutrition and realized I needed to cook more at home, I started watching the Food Network and reading cookbooks.
Then, starting around 2008, I started reading food blogs and then started my own food blog in 2009.
Since then, I’ve really enjoyed watching YouTube for most of my cooking tutorials. I find the less scripted and more realistic portrayal of meal preparation to be really approachable and inspiring for my own real food cooking journey.
So, I’m really excited to share this list of Healthy YouTube Cooking Channels with you! Whether you’re just getting started learning how to eat clean and prepare a real foods or you are a veteran chef, I think you’ll find at least a few new channels to subscribe to and binge on (no pun intended).
And, be sure to leave your favorite channel in the comments.

I make the most popular recipes from my blog, plus I share stories and tips from my kitchen and my health recovery journey including my battle with thyroid cancer.
The most popular videos that I’ve shared so far are my Beet Juice Recipe, Immune-Boosting Orange Smoothie recipe, my Blender Orange Juice, and my What to Eat on a Paleo Diet video.

2. Downshiftology
The Downshifology YouTube channel is so professional! Lisa shares gluten-free recipes that are always very approachable and delicious.
Fun fact: Lisa and I went to the same graduate school, although we were there at different times.
Lisa is known for her meal prep videos, and they are excellent!
3. Mind Over Munch
Mind Over Munch is another highly-professional channel with videos that are quick and succinct. I always learn something from Alyssia’s videos that are often Whole30, plant-based, and paleo-friendly.
One of my favorite Mind Over Munch videos is her one-hour meal prep.
4. Fit Men Cook
The Fit Men Cook YouTube channel is one of my favorites.
Kevin is such a fun personality and his recipes are made using real food ingredients. He often offers gluten-free and plant-based substitutions. I really want to make his Low-Carb Fried Rice.

6. Pick Up Limes
Pick Up Limes is another vegan channel with beautifully-shot recipes.

7. Mary’s Nest
The Mary’s Nest YouTube channel is the best channel for traditional recipes, including fermented foods, sourdough, and home remedies.
Mary is one of my actual virtual friends, and she is lovely and extremely knowledgeable.
Don’t miss her videos for quick pickles and Instant Pot chicken bone broth. Mary also gave me a shout-out in this video. Thanks, Mary!

I’m glad you mentioned Nisha and Sadia. I love Wil Yeung’s Yeung Man Cooking, for its aesthetics, gorgeous music, watching him cut veggies, his delivery (he’s sparse on words: clean in a different sense), and inside his kitchen cabinets is a drool-worthy. And of course, his vegan recipes. Or, as he often calls them, “a party is like to attend”.
Thanks, Lee! I like Wil’s channel too, definitely worth a watch!
