Making pineapple ginger juice at home allows you to ensure the freshness and quality of the ingredients, resulting in a more flavorful and nutrient-rich beverage.
Preparing the juice yourself offers the flexibility to adjust sweetness, spice levels, and consistency according to personal preferences.
Additionally, homemade versions often avoid the preservatives, artificial sweeteners, or additives commonly found in store-bought varieties, ensuring a more natural and wholesome drink.
Why Pineapple Ginger Juice?
- Pineapple is rich in bromelain, an enzyme that aids digestion and has anti-inflammatory properties, while also being a source of vital vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that support a healthy immune system.
- Ginger has so many health benefits! It can help alleviate gastrointestinal irritation, stimulate saliva, suppress gastric contractions, and alongside pineapple, offers a combined boost of antioxidants that reduce oxidative stress and promote overall health.
Key Ingredients
- Pineapple is a tropical fruit celebrated for its juicy sweetness and vibrant yellow color. It’s versatile in a variety of dishes and drinks, imparting a distinctive tangy flavor profile. It’s also a good source of vitamin C. Try to use a fresh ripe pineapple from the grocery store or fresh pineapple juice for this recipe.
- Ginger is a rhizome that adds a zesty, spicy kick to both dishes and beverages. With its unique and aromatic taste, ginger is often used to elevate and complement the flavors in many culinary creations. Look for fresh ginger root in most grocery stores. Ginger Pineapple Juice FAQs
Yes, you can use canned pineapple, but it’s advisable to choose varieties without added sugars or preservatives. Do note that fresh pineapple usually offers a more vibrant flavor. If using canned, ensure to drain the syrup before blending.
Store the pineapple ginger juice in an airtight container or bottle in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. It’s best consumed within 24-48 hours for optimum freshness and flavor. Give it a good shake or stir before serving if it’s been sitting for a while.
If the ginger flavor feels too strong, you can reduce the quantity used in the recipe or increase the amount of pineapple. Additionally, you can also add a splash of water or a squeeze of citrus like lemon juice to help balance out the spiciness.
Absolutely! You can experiment by adding fruits like mango, orange, or berries for a twist. Ingredients like turmeric root, mint, basil, or a splash of coconut water can also complement and diversify the flavor profile.

Most of us are really busy so a recipe with measurements using purchased Pineapple Juice and Ginger Spice Powder.
that’s a great idea! I’ll have to test it and get back to you. I would estimate maybe 1/2 cup of pineapple juice, 1/4 cup water, and 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger. But the digestive benefits won’t be the same using non-fresh versions.
Why avoid the core? Vitamix and Blendtec can blend it effortlessly, and that’s where the highest concentration of bromelain is.
great idea!
I am drinking it right now, I’ve been making this all summer, but I cook my ginger and I only use the skin and top of the pineapple which I also cook
Awesome recipe
I’m new to juicing. I was so excited to come across this post. I’m on so much medication that it’s stressing me out. I so appreciate you and how you are willing to help people like me,by sharing your advice 🙏. Thank you so much 🥰
Do I have to strain it? I don’t think I would mind the pulp.
You don’t have to strain it but it will be more of a smoothie texture as opposed to a juice or wellness shot.
Absolutely delicious! I love it after meals to help with digestion.
